I have a knack for making experiences better with a lot of things you'd call design & a lot of things you'd call content.

I care about users; I care about how they interact with a site (or can't), what they read (or don't), and how they feel after.

Let's make something they'll love to use, together. First, have a look around.

I'm Marissa Epstein. Some folks call me "Mars." Either's fine.

Tall portrait of a woman in her mid-thirties with long hair buzzed on one side, wearing a purple blouse, glasses, and a smile.

I began my collection as a student (graphic design, branding, psychology, communication arts). I picked up more with practice (interface design, art direction, information architecture, content management, even project management).

Now as a UX Strategist, I have a bag featuring hybrid gizmos assembled from years of user experience and content strategy. It's kitted out for all web phases. It's even got a shiny badge: Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC). It's full of post-its and sharpies to capture ideas and share understanding. And I've got what it takes to research, model, wire, style, test, document, refine, and measure.

I've created experiences for beefy publishers, sexy entertainers, lean startups, and lots between. I worked within state government sites for the last five years of an eleven year Lullabot tenure. I tailor my solutions to the problems in front of me–though I bring curiosity, organization, and attention to detail with me everywhere.

And finally, I love learning, sharing, and being in community. I've spoken at over a dozen industry conferences and camps in as many years, though I don't write as often as I'd like.

You can find me in my Cape Cod home in Providence, RI, with my gigantic dog, Elwood. Otherwise, we're exploring our tiny city in the pursuit of good food and music.
